Case in point without even considering the 3D solutions in this thread, sometimes members have posted a still image of their pincab. You just walk up and it works and it auto adjusts for the height of the player very well.Īt the end of the day, I think monitor placement/angle, your own height, etc also play a key role in the 3D effect. ![]() So as a social solution it's a bit of a pain but I prefer it to passing around the hat with the LED's and it was very accurate. In saying that, you can't have anybody else beside you with either of the Kinect solutions because the Kinect camera must not see two faces at the same time. I've had the PS2 EYES solutions before it was ok but the best is def Kinect 2. I've never felt it gets better by closing one eye and it's not perfect with one or two eyes, it is what it is but it does work. maybe this is the reason why it works decently for me. I suffer from a bit of double vision (I need a prism in my glasses' lens to sort if out a bit). Typically I find the 3d works very good with most tables. I can say with Black Hole, the 3D is very good. For Pinball Arcade, I have the arcooda version and kinect 2. The effect works better with some tables more than others. What about the PS4 camera? It's got two cameras and is much more compact than the Kinect, but I don't see support for it on RavArcade. If using 2 x PS3Eyes, what's the optimal placement? How far apart should they be? Up high or below the DMD? It's hard to imagine mounting a Kinect right above my playfield glass. The only info about camera placement on RavArcade's site ( ) mentions that lower is better because with a camera on top of the back glass, when you look down the camera might lose you. Is something like that necessary? Or can head tracking work without it? In at least one video I see Terry wearing a ball cap with some IR LEDs on it. Pic of pinball arcade doctor who pinball table how to#Or many details on camera placement and how to incorporate them into a cabinet. What I can't seem to find is a discussion/comparison of the various hardware methods. I can find lots of game demo videos and software setup videos. Pic of pinball arcade doctor who pinball table upgrade#I guess I just found a new upgrade to add to the list! ![]() I'm wrapping up my first virtual pinball cabinet build when I discover BAM and TerryRed's (and others') Future Pinball head tracking demos. ![]()
